The Book Summary : The Guardian Angels is the epic and tumultuous story of two star-crossed lovers who werent just soul-mates but were also each others protectors. The fates of Adi Mehta and Radha Deodhar are deeply entwined when within days of their first rendezvous they save each others lives. Despite their vast sociopolitical differences, they are drawn to an uncertain future fraught with contrasting ambitions, personas and ideologies. He is the son of a billionaire, she is the daughter of a socialist. He is quiet and unassuming, she is a firebrand and spirited. However, the unexplained phenomena ties them forever whenever they are in peril, they are each others only saviors. Over the following two decades Adi and Radha live through hope and despair, joy and sadness, and try to decipher their relationship. As the truth of their bond is revealed, they must confront the true nature of love, and ultimately, their destinies.

My Point of View ( P.O.V ) : Very rarely you come across a book whose story lingers with you long after you've finished reading it. The Guardian of Angels is one such book I've come across that deeply moved me. The cover of the book is very appealing to the eyes and it instantly sparks interest. The very apt image of the female and the male merged into one another brings out the crux of inter-dependency of the main characters in the story, on one another. I've not read any of the author's previous books, so was not sure what exactly to expect from this one. After reading this one however, I must say that I've become curious about his other books too and hope to read them soon.

It is a love story, but definitely not the run-off-the-mill kinda, instead it is a very intriguing one! It is story of a bond shared by two individuals ( Adi & Radha ), both coming from contrasting backgrounds - he rich, but a recluse and introverted, she a middle class socialism-inclined lass, spunky and an extrovert. Though existing apart in different worlds, they both look out for each other constantly and is one another's support and strength at times of danger ( spanning their lives from teenage years till their thirties ) - hence the term of 'Guardian Angels' that suits beautifully, doing total justice to the story. Their first meeting when they were children is quite interesting as well - 12 year old Radha saves 12 year old Adi from the bullies, giving an instant glimpse of their personalities. The story also has a mix of other interesting characters that are well sketched and given relevance too, taking the story forward ( e.g Adi's close classmate Nicole and Radha's hero Sudha Bapat of the activist group she is deeply involved in ). The story, its background, plot, characters and other minute details/trivia are so well narrated that you almost can visualize the story as it progresses. Love, ambition, failures, troubles, hope etc - the story encounters these emotions and more such varied moments, giving a good amount of twists and turns in its 300+ pages.

The narration via Radha's diary and taken over at points by Adi's part of events makes the story very engrossing to read, as you get both the perspective clearly. The book has four parts in all.
Even though it is basically a love story, its a very clean and matured read - almost pure or philosophical - if one can use those terms. And the brilliant climax of the story in the end will simply move you, make you emotional, yet you'll be left happy and satisfied.

THE GUARDIAN ANGELS

Positives : Very interestingly written, simple but yet a unique gripping book that will surely keep the readers hooked a.k.a captivated till the last pages. The language is easy, lucid style and smooth flowing with good mix of emotions. Though love stories are common, this story however has a very never-been-told-like-this-before kinda fresh feel to it. Priced right the book is highly recommended.
Negatives : None!
Who will enjoy this? - Everyone!
Buy or Don’t Buy? – A Must Buy!
